Beautiful Melody

I can't believe it, and yet here I am sitting in the back of my parents' SUV staring out the window at the falling rain, what a breathtaking day to move. Things wouldn't have been so bad if I had gotten my way and was able to drive my motorcycle to the new house; however Mother Nature was a bitch.

"Blaze," my mother's voice caught my attention, drawing me out of my own mind, without turning my head I shifted my eyes to focus on her "stop sulking" she commanded with a smile. I didn't respond, knowing anything that would come out of my mouth would only result in me getting in trouble.

"My efforts were beaten by teenage rebellion," she teased turning forward in her seat. "He gets it from you Travis"

"All his best qualities are from me" my father grinned.

"You may have given him your best qualities, but I gave him his good looks" she boasted.
