"Would you mind showing me around a little more?" you ask Selena.
"Sure," she says with a cute smile and a wink. "It's what I'm here for."
She leads you on a fantastic tour of Ela'Derhn, showing you amazing luxurious locations and just when you think you've seen the most incredible thing they have to offer, she shows you something even more unreal. As you pass by a giant globe machine, called the "SteamBall" and meant to give you the best steam massage of your life, you come to a balcony overlooking the ocean. Selena rests against it and looks down towards the beach, where many people lie sunbathing on hovertowels and blankets. Many more people are swimming out in the ocean, but curiously enough it does not give off the appearance of being crowded at all.
"You know our waters are predator-free," Selena comments. "Not a mean fish in sight for miles and miles."
"Yeah, so I've heard," you say. "Well, I've seen the Activity Grounds, the Relaxment Center, the Chef's Palace, Crystal Beach. Is there really anything else here that could possibly blow me away?"
Selena smiles, as someone who is hiding a really good secret would. "Well actua-
"BLLEEEAAAUUUGGCCHHH!!" comes a shriek from the beach.
You and Selena both gaze down towards Crystal Beach where a person seems to have collapsed. Other sunbathers are now starting to crowd around them. You and Selena rush down the steps to manage the scene before it gets too chaotic.
"Back up people, please back up!" Selena shouts as you approach this fallen person, who you see is a human male of about 40. A few other Ela'Derhn workers run up, attempting to back people off. One of them starts to push you back but you quickly flash your Ranger card and instead, he backs off from you.
The man who has fallen is lying in a large puddle of his own sick. Slimy, green chunky stuff. He is unconscious right now and as you try to wake him, you see that it is hopeless for now. The most you will be able to do for him is get him to a medical bay. When he wakes up later, you'll be able to question him but for now, you can only investigate this gross scene.
So you call over a couple workers to take this man away and they carry him off on a hoverboard. The other guests are all backing away by now so you and Selena are left standing above the green sick. A worker approaches and is about to clean it up but you hold out a hand. "Wait just a moment, okay?"
You turn to Selena. "So is this kind of like the illness I got called out here for?"
She looks at you, worry livid in her eyes. "I, uhm...I don't really-
"Be honest with me," you demand. "I'm not here to play games with this. You should know that these people are my concern, not the well-being of your resort. Now the other sick people, did they have puke like this?"
Grimly, she nods her head. "Okay, now you can clean it up," you tell the worker, after flashing a quick picture to send to HQ.
"Are we, are we going to get shut down?" she asks, nervously.
"I'll need to see if this picture checks out with the symptoms on the reported cases over at that other resort, Ba'Deena."
"Ba'Deena," Selena says as she looks at the ground. "I heard about them. Sixty deaths? That's so terrible."
You nod. "Yeah, well I'm here to make sure that doesn't happen again."
Selena gives a small smile but you can tell right now that she is unsure of what you'll do next.
You look at her sympathetically. "Don't worry though, I'm not here with the intention of shutting down Ela'Derhn. I'm just trying to get to the bottom of what's going on. Although, if you do turn out to be the bad guys then..."
She catches your eye and the both of you laugh. She seems to loosens up a little.
"So," she says as she places her hands on her hips and asks what you were also beginning to wonder "What are you going to do now?"
