The Legend of Apollonius
You knock on the door once and it slowly creaks open. You walk inside and see the old man sitting in a chair.
"Welcome, I assume your being here means you were successful?"
"Yes hes dead..."
"Good, well as I said id give you a place to stay if you did the job, here." The old man tosses you a key.
"Whats this for."
"Its the key to your new home. Oh by the way I did a little research on you I heard about what happened to your village."
"My village? Tell me what you know old man."
"I doubt I can tell you more than what you know already"
"....I cant remember anything"
"Oh well in that case take a seat. I have some information that may peak your interest."
"I'm listening."
"You come from a small village named Ureka. Along with your older brother Kai, your little sister Luna and your mother you had a nice enough life. Everyone just ignored the fact that they had a pair of Akuma living next door."
"What is a Akuma?"
"You've never heard of the Akuma? Oh right you don't remember anything do you. Well I'll tell you the story my grandfather told me. 4000 Years Ago A Dark Force Entered This World. Demons With Unimaginable power. They Laid Waste To This Land Destroying All In Their Path. Then One Faithful Day Around 500 Years Ago A Man In Black Clad Armor Claimed He Had Imprisoned One Of These Powerful Demons In His Body. Soon After, He Defeated Each Demon Sealing Each In a Small Jewel. He Then Crushed Each Jewel And Let There Shattered Remains Disappear In The Wind. Soon After Children Were Starting To Be Born With Jewels Embedded On Their Bodies. Some Say When Fully Mastered These Rare Few Born With These Jewels Can Unleash The Demon That Sleeps Within."
You look down at your red arm and the jewel on on your hand.
"So I was one of the Akuma in the village? Who was the other?"
"Your brother Kai."
"Can the curse be passed down? Or were we both just lucky?"
"Lucky? most consider their curse to be..well a curse. And to answer your question about the curse being genetic no it is not. Even if it was this wouldn't explain why you and Kai have the curse you and your siblings do not share the same blood."
"I see. You mentioned Kai and Luna but you didn't give me the name of my mother why aren't you telling me."
"If I knew id tell you. Well enough chatter I have another job for you."
"...I..don't think I can take anymore of your requests."
"Whys that?"
"I don't want to corrupt my soul anymore than it already is."

"All of these people have it coming to them. They're criminals there souls are already lost you see."
"But isn't murdering people just as bad what makes me different from any of them."
"There has to be someone to cleanse the evil at any cost and that person is you."
"What did the man I killed tonight do?"
"A long time ago before he had a family of his own he shot my wife....."

"She had something he wanted she wouldn't give it to him so he took it. The guards were supposed to look into it but never did so I gathered information myself but the guards wouldn't even hear me out."
"Okay i'll keep taking your assignments but you have to tell me what everyone i'm assigned to kill has done.

"Get some sleep kid i'll leave the instructions in your mailbox."
