Horoscopic

I'm a little spooked, I must confess.

I went onto the family website and found the photo. It really is CREEPY. Old Bathsheba was a hatchet-faced woman whose lacy collar appears to be devouring her chin. Her pale eyes follow you, but that's not the creepy part. She's got a severe, thin-lipped look, but superimposed across her face, barely visible, is the hideous rictus of a grin.

You know how, with old photos, they had to expose the shot longer? Sometime during the taking of her portrait, Bathsheba flashed that ghoulish grin for a few seconds, and it was imprinted into the photo forever.

Brrrrrrr.

Anyway, as I was printing the photo out, the printer jammed. I hate the sound a jamming printer makes! I yanked the sheet of paper out and now the bottom of it is all shredded. The photo's still intact, though.

Weird coincidence, huh?

Off to work we go. I wonder, should I keep Bathsheba hidden in my bag or prop the picture up on my desk so she's watching me while I work?
