BDU's are short for Battle Dress utilities. The are a heavy pair of pants, short t-shirt, and a jacket. The pants and jacket are usually printed in either a camoflauge pattern, industrial grey, flat black or an olive drab. The lighter ones you are currently wearing are made of a water resistant synthetic blend, with a natural fiber inner layer to make them more breathable, and comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The outer venlar weave acts as a light armor.
Your boots are built with a venlar weave, like the BDU's making them resistant to shrapnel, plasma fire, and most battle field hazards.
EVA stands for extra-vehicular activity. Basically, a carbon fiber/venlar jumpsuit you wear in space. Your EVA suit is desigend to protect you from most conditions you would encounter in space and on alien worlds. they are lightly armored, and fit tight for use in combat. The power is solar fed, and the oxygen scrubber can convert CO2 and other excreted materials into breathable air and simple nutrients. The system is delicate and can only sustain you for about an hour if it is damaged.
Your Raptor model 750 assault rifle fires superheated Magnesium Telluride pellets out of a magnetic accellerator, in bursts of three, or fully automatic. you have 9,000 rounds per clip, at an effective range of 300 meters. The battery powering the accelerator, and kinetic/electro-magnetic superheater is good for approximately 100,000 rounds, and can be replaced by simply swapping out the drained, general purpose power pack for a charged one.
