Hall of Infinite Doors
I tried a little experiment. Looking at a floor plan I drew up, I discovered that two rooms where separated by only a thin wall, so I figured I should be able to bore through one wall and see to the other side. That is what would make sense rationally... but it was not the case. I estimated the wall was less than six inches thick, so I began to dig through the wood. After about three inches of wood panel, I hit brick. I started to break through the brick, but the pick axe I had brought was meager. I made it about a foot through and the brick continued. I left to go grab a stronger tool and when I returned, just minutes later, the wall had somehow self-repaired. It was as if I had never touched it. Using a larger pick axe, I spent a solid hour banging through the wall. I was able to get several feet into brick... several feet into a wall that should only be six inches thick...
I decided I needed something mechanical to get further, but I didn't want to leave the wall and have it repair on me again. All the digging through I had done had left chunks of brick and splinters of wood all over the ground. I grabbed a large chunk of brick and placed it in my pocket. I then left and as I was walking my mind began to wander, thinking about the implications of my discovery, and if this place was even real, or if perhaps I had lost my mind. When I snapped out of my mental tangent, I noticed I could no longer feel the chunk of brick in my pocket. I checked my pockets thoroughly and it was not there. I retraced my steps to see if I had dropped it, and when I came back to the wall, all of the brick fragments on the ground were gone, and the wall had no massive hole, in fact, it had not even a scratch.
Perhaps I'm in a dream... I just don't understand how this could be possible. One thing is for certain, I will not stop until I understand what is going on. I'm planning on exploring deeper than I ever have before as soon as I finish writing this log. When I return... I will write another log about what I have found and place it next to this one. If that log is not present here, right now... then I am still out there.
