Digimon Transverse
You decide to boot it! There is no honor in dying - at least not like this! You quickly scamper away from the Yanmamon as fast as you can, with Agumon racing behind you. Compare to the bulky legs of both of you, however, Yanmamon has it better with its wings. It takes no time at all to zip across the air and catches up with you.
Without warning, it shoots its tail forward and zaps a bolt of lightning across the air. Agumon is quick to react to its sharp eyes, though. Too bad it is not all too bright, having the need to confirm the source of the noise being Yanmamon's attack by turning around and taking one look at the oncoming bolt. It flies past its head, though, and heads right for you...
"Look out!" it warns you, before leaping onto your back, catching the attack itself instead.
You gently shift away from Agumon's body that has landed on top of you, then place it in your arms to check if it is still breathing. You scold it for performing such a silly act - risking its life to save someone it has just met - but it intentionally smiles at you silly and replies you with, "Of course... I'm your partner..."
This is when you are reminded of Episode 1 of Digimon Adventure, when Koromon risked its life to save Taichi. You finally understand first-hand of what that stood for. It was not just because of a silly excuse of it being 'your partner'; it was programmed to die for you if it has to. Just a few feet away from you, Yanmamon has already propelled itself towards you again,ready to fire a second attack. You will have to think fast.
