This Way Up

You reach out to touch the orb, but pull back quickly. There seems to be a shield of heat around it. You step back, and watch in awe as the sphere grows larger, and seemingly unstable. You turn your back to run, but it's too late. The orb expands, enveloping you in light. You look down at your hands and see that you're slowly disintegrating.

One final scream escapes your lips as your body is destroyed.
