Hall of Infinite Doors
The elderly man has a copy of Finnegan's Wake in his hands. He also has a notebook which he seems to be using to take notes as he reads. He looks up and speaks to you.
"Ahh, I'm not sure if you are a literature man or not, but I'm reading the sequel to Ulysses, Finnegan's Wake. I have to say, I'm pretty sure Joyce is messing with the literary world with this book. I've been trying to dissect it for a long time, and even came to this play so I would have all the time I need. It's still so incoherent to me, with so many pieces that just don't fit. I'm going to keep working on it though, and when I'm done I think I'll write up my findings. I have to say, this book is really testing my patience, and if it wasn't for the calming and focusing effect of this place I'm not sure if I would have been able to stick with it for this long."
