Sonic World Adventure Rush!
'Hey! Sonic! Look at this!" Tails shouted as he began to hang ten. He noticed Sonic was starting to nod off, so yelled louder.
"SONIC!!!! C'MON! YOU SAID YOU'D WATCH!" Tails smiled, knowing that this annoyed him. But it was all in harmless fun.
"SONIC! HEY!!! OVER HERE!!!"
"SHUT UP, TAILS!" Sonic snapped. Just as the two were about to continue their shouting match, a massive explosion shook the ground, and caused a massive wave to swell up behind the fox, knocking him off his board and actually pushing him to shore.
Sonic rushed over and helped Tails up, noticing that his fur was slippery and slimy, and he smelled like harsh chemicals.
He glanced over the coughing fox's shoulder to see the water was starting to turn purple, and smell just as bad.
"You okay, Tails?" Sonic asked, wiping the muck off his hands, back onto Tails' head.
"I'm fine..." he gasped. "But what was that?"
Tails turned to see the same purple water, and the smell began to hit him.
"EWW!"
Tails rushed over to his bag and grabbed a device while Sonic continued to monitor the thick smoke billowing over the horizon.
Tails pulled a sample of the slime off his fur and placed it under the device to scan it's components. He came walking back to Sonic, staring at the screen.
"Well?" the hedgehog asked.
"According to this, it's Mega Mack." Tails said, a hint of disbelief in his voice.
"That purple gunk from the old Chemical Plant? But that place was on Westside Island, miles from here! And I thought they cleaned up all that stuff anyway!"
"Looks like someone had a large shipment..." Tails noted, as he stared at the smoke as well.
That's when the two noticed something approaching. It looked like a survivor.
"Careful, Tails. It could be a hostile." Sonic held his arm in front of the fox, dropping into attack stance.
Sonic briefly considered that maybe they should split up and look for answers. That way, whoever, or whatever was coming for them, couldn't find them so easily.
