Hall of Infinite Doors

The plaque reads:

Am I the total, or am I part of the sum that makes up the total? Am I an individual? Are you? Or are we just cogs, cells of a greater entity. I hope you don't think yourself as an individual. Funny choice of words, hope, because it would take hope in order to believe that. The hopes of an idealist. The truth isÂ… well there is no truth. From a rational standpoint, if you really analyze your role in things, your role in society, your role in life, the motivations for all your actions, analyze every part of your being, you realize you are not an individual but simply an automaton, a puppet of a great puppet master, who, in turn, has no master and blindly goes through the universe controlled by nothing other than natural law. One may argue that the mere ability to realize this means that you are in fact an individual because you can self reflect. This self reflection, the opponents don't realize, is just another function instilled upon us. You ask what your purpose in life is? If you are a tool, what are you for? To do this you must trace back the chain of control to the source. There you find that there is no god, no director, no force, nothing. There is nothing in control. It is all absurd. It is all meaningless. You have no purpose. If you can't live with this I suggest you kill yourself now. There is no point in proceeding. Otherwise, just hang on tight and enjoy the ride. That is all you can do. You'll only enjoy it though if that is how you are controlled to do so, because ultimately there is just natural order controlling it, an absurd chain of events leading to nothing of any real importance.

You have 1 choice:
