The Profession

You climb halfway down the ladder and you drop yourself down. When you land you crouch to quieten your fall. You stand up and look around. It is completely dark except for the light coming from the streets about 100 yards from your current position.
You walk that way - slowly - and keep a lookout in all directions, but you don't have to for long because you see an orange light coming from behind you.
