Pieces of a Dream

*"Mm… ow…" Xennex mumbled as she began to wake up, her body stiff from
being on the hard floor throughout the night. At least she was on carpet…
"You finally awake yet?" Roxas asked.
"Yeah…" Xennex replied.
"Hey. I've got a surprise for you." Roxas said.
"Huh? A surprise?" Xennex asked.
"Keep your eyes closed!" He said, still smiling.
"O… kay?" Xennex said slowly.
Roxas ran over to his closet and pulled out one of his spare Organization
jackets. Compared to how he was acting, he was in an, er, 'different' mood.
"TADAH!" He said, giving her the jacket.
"You're acting surprisingly happy, Roxas. What's gotten into you?" Xennex
asked.
"Hey. I only wanted to give you it so you could fit in." He said.
"Oh, okay. Thank you, Roxas." Xennex said, smiling. She stood up from
where she was sitting and slipped on the black jacket.
"Coolio!" She said. "Thanks again."
"No prob." Roxas said with the same smile that we all know and love. "It
was just one of the extra ones I had. Figured I could give it to you."
She looked at Roxas. Maybe he was getting used to this 'taking care of'
thing. Maybe this is what he had in mind of making the best of it. She
obviously didn't know.
All had settled down now. Roxas wasn't overly happy anymore, and Xennex
had fully waken up.
"Oi… I'm hungry." Xennex said. "It's been a while since I've eaten."
"Okay." Roxas said. "Lemme just get my jacket on and we'll be on our way."
"Alrighty!" Xennex said.
After putting his jacket on, he opened a portal and both he and the girl
walked in, soon to get to the kitchen.
Xennex had an uncomfortable feeling with Roxas being this way. It wasn't
the real him. She had know what he was like, and he wasn't like himself now.
"Roxas?" She asked. "You're not acting like yourself."
"Uh? I'm not?" Roxas asked.
"No." She replied. "It's like you're acting this way for me. I wanted for
you to stay the same. Not be someone, well, you're not."
"Eh, I guess you're right." Roxas said, looking over to the side.
The two arrived in the kitchen. Not wanting to get caught, Xennex pulled
her hood over her head. After that, she did the thing that most others would
have done: started raiding the fridge.
But, of course, someone had to walk in. Unfortunately, it happened to be
Xaldin. Even though the girl had been with Xaldin before, Xaldin couldn't
tell it was her.
"Roxas? Who is that?" Xaldin asked.
"I thought you knew." Roxas said.
During this, Xennex had closed the fridge door and walked up behind
Xaldin.
"Holy snap." She though. "He's huge. There's no way I'm gonna fight him."
"Ah. There she is." Roxas said, seeing the girl behind Xaldin. "Yeah. I
thought you knew."
"I didn't know about a new member." Xaldin said.
"She isn't a new member." Roxas said. "I only gave her one of my jackets
so she could fit in."
"Oh, so now people are gonna be thinking that she's a new member just
because you wanted her to 'fit in'." Xaldin said.
"Uh, I guess?" Roxas said, shrugging. "But still, you know her, right?"
"Yes." Xaldin replied. "I know her. I had to bring her here. Get out from
behind me!!"
Xennex jumped from the sudden outburst, then sidestepped away from Number
Three and over to Roxas.
"Oh shnap, he's huge." She whispered.
"Yup." Roxas replied.
"Oi." She said quickly.
After this moment of silence, Xennex pulled off her hood and looked at
Roxas.
"Heh. Ha ha!" All of a sudden, Roxas started… laughing?
"What's so funny?" Xennex asked.
"It's just that, my jacket is so big on you and it looks so funny!" He
replied as he continued laughing.
"Uh…" The girl looked down at the jacket on her. She admitted that it was
kinda big. But…
"I thought we couldn't feel emotion. Why do you keep acting funny, Roxas?"
Xennex asked.
Roxas stopped laughing when he heard this. She was learning fast. And what
she had said was true.
"Um… yeah?" He said. "That is right." He scratched behind his neck, then
looked over at Xaldin and mouthed at him 'oh my word'.
"Er, you know all about that?" Xaldin asked.
"Well, yeah." Xennex replied, putting her hands on her hips. "I've played
the games and I've done research about you nobodies."
"WHAT?!" Both members said together. "Research?!"
"Well, what else could I have done in my spare time?" Xennex said.
The other members stared at her open-mouthed, amazed.
"Then you should know everything about us." Roxas said. "Sh-should
Superior know about this?"
"Probably." Xaldin said.
Xennex walked out of the room. Roxas followed, and on his way out, Xaldin
whispered into his ear: "Have fun." Then he patted Roxas on the shoulder and
added: "And don't try to get too attached to it." And with that, he shoved
the blonde the rest of the way out the door.
"Alright." Roxas said, clasping his hands together. "To the Superiors
office."
Xennex walked back over to Roxas and slipped her hand into his. "Okay."
She said.
Roxas felt himself gulp as his face turned red. "Oh boy…" He though.
"This'll only make my job harder…"
He shook his head and walked forward, still holding onto the girls' hand.
"But, possibly, it won't be so hard." He thought, smiling down at Xennex.
"No, not too hard."
About half way down the hall, Roxas opened a portal and led Xennex into
it, making the rest of the journey to the Superiors office easier.

.::O::O::O::O::O::.

"Thank you, Roxas. You are dismissed." The Superior said.
Roxas bowed slightly and left the room, leaving Xennex with Xemnas. Who
knew what'd happen then.
"So, you're here now." Xemnas said, standing up from behind his desk.
"Wh-what do you mean?" She asked, once again scared half to death.
"You are the one thing that our Organization needs." Xemnas said. "You
yourself do not even know what strength lies within you."
"What…?" She said barely louder than a whisper. "Strength… that lies…
within me?" She repeated his words, touching her chest and looking at
herself.
"Yes." Xemnas replied. "And that is how you defeated Larxene."
"Well that should explain the pointy weapons!" She said.
"Exactly." Superior said, walking over to her. "But now you've got to
practice those skills so you will always be ready to use them."
"So…" She said slowly. "I'm gonna be taught to use them the right way?"
"Yes. I will ask one of the members to teach you." Xemnas said.
"Oh cool." She said. "Does this mean I'll be able to meat the other
members, too?"
"Um, don't get your hopes up so soon. Right now, less than half of this
Organization knows about you." Xemnas said, laying a hand on her shoulder.
"But, eventually, you will be able to meat the other members."
The girl smiled, not looking up at the silver-haired leader of
Organization XIII.
Finishing what he had to say to the girl, he opened a portal and said:
"You have a room now. You don't have to sleep on the floor any more either. Now go."
And with that, the white-haired girl walked into the portal, soon to
arrive in her new room.
As he closed the portal, he waved a small 'good-bye' to her and walked
back over to his desk.
"I hope this is something good for this Organization. And I hope this
turns out as planned…" He said.

.::O::O::O::O::O::.

"Oh, sweetness!" Xennex said as she looked around the white room she had
landed in. "This is really my room?!"
"That it is …" A voice said from behind her.
"H-hey! Show yourself!" She said, scared.
"Guess." Said the voice.
"… Axel…?" She guessed.
"Got it memorized?" Axel said, stepping out of a portal and into the room.
"I thought you'd know."
"What do you want, you tall stick?" Xennex asked, glaring up at the
pyromaniac.
"I was told to test you. Superior sent me." Axel replied, opening up
another portal.
He grabbed the girl by the hood and threw her into the portal, chuckling.
Then he followed after her by throwing himself into the portal. This'd be
fun.
"Okay then!" He said to the girl. "Let's get it started!" And with that,
he formed his chakrams in his hands and stood in a fighting position, ready
to take on whatever the other would do.
Apparently, Xennex wasn't ready for this, so she didn't know what to do.
If only she could have those weapons just one more time…
She threw her arms out in front of her, crossed over each other, ready to
grip the metal of the weapons she would use to fight this other member of
the Organization.
Energy flowed swiftly around two, three-pointed knife-looking things that
appeared in the girls' hands.
"What?!" Axel said in amazement. "Sai?!"
Yes. The girl had crafted her two sai in her hands, now ready to fight the
pyro. She had taken on Larxene, so she could probably take on Axel.
"Okay then." Axel said. "We've figured out your weapons: sai."
Xennex looked down at the two sai in her hands.
"So that's what they're called." She said. "Okay, now's the time for the
real fighting!" She said, glaring at Axel with an 'evil smile'.
"Oh snap." Axel said, backing away from the girl across the room from him.
Her eyes went completely white as she cloned herself and continued walking
across the room over to the fire controller.
"Oh crud!! You can clone yourself?!" Axel exclaimed, still backing up. "Oh
snap. Oh snap. Oh snap. Oh snap. Oh snap."
"Oh yeah!!" Xennex said jumping up, her white clones following.
"STOP!!!" Axel yelled.
Just as this was said, she landed in front of him, eyes returning to
normal, and clones fading away.
The girl toppled over on the floor, apparently not keeping the strength
she had had in the 'fight' that was being tested.
"How… did you do that?" Axel asked, helping her up.
"I-I don't know." Xennex said, taking his hand and pulling herself up. "It
just all of a sudden happened."
Axel looked at the girl, wide-eyed in astonishment. "Th-that's unreal!" He
said.
"Seriously!" Xennex agreed.
"Now I know not to mess with you." Axel said. "Did I just say that out
loud?"
The girl snorted. "Yes." She said. "And I'm glad you did. Now you're one less
person I need to worry about getting on my case." She dusted off her coat,
pleased with what had happened.
Axel yanked his hand away from Xennex and glared at her. "Well now that I
know you're thinking that, I will take to it by getting on your case." He
turned his nose up. "That's what I do." And with that, he opened a portal
and walked out, leaving Xennex alone in the strange area.
