The Lost Diary
Together, you hurtle around the corner, into the alleyway. As expected, it travels for a few metres and arrives at a dead-end. At the end of the lane, however, the young man is nimbly climbing up the wall of one of the residential buildings. He obviously intends to escape over the city rooftops.
Just then, though, disaster strikes for the man. He loses his footing and comes crashing down, landing heavily on his leg. He screams in pain from his three metre fall. Meanwhile, you and Thomas haven't moved. Both of you are wondering how the thief will respond to his setback.
He slowly gets to his feet, favouring his right leg. Looking at the two of you with disgust, he spits in your general direction and unsheathes a rusty knife from his ragged clothing. He isn't going to give up your coin without a fight. What will you do now?
