"It starting to rain. Can I give you a ride?"
She crosses her legs and turns toward you. "Is that all you can think about?" She laughs.
"No, no," you back peddle. "Not like that. I mean, you know, somewhere."
"Right . . ." she drawls sarcastically. "Why should I trust you? How do I know you won't take me someplace that I don't want to go?"
There is a levity about her. She seems serious, but joking.
