The Knights
Noble were the knights of Blegan. They were considered by many to be the most effective, noble, and courageous warriors on the continent. Twenty-three knights of Blegan joined in this quest to the sunless lands.
Of senior rank among them was Sir Gallor Pennington, 2nd Knight of Blegan. Gallor was well reputed to be a kind and gentle man who was quite wild in battle but has wisened with age. His attacks were all pre-meditated and well thought out. He had the uncanny ability to find a man's weakness in battle after studying them for only a few moments.
The 3rd Knight of Blegan was known as Sir Hector. Sir Hector Marbrand had been a long time rival of Gallor's, always challenging one another in tourneys and striving to outdo the other in battle. While the two men bicker and argue almost constantly, each has earned the respect of the other. It bothers Sir Hector to no end that Sir Gallor outranks him, and he has no qualms about arguing with his senior officer, but when given an order Sir Hector will follow it to the letter.
The 5th Knight of Blegan was known to the masses as Sir Gnishaw Not. Gnishaw was a young man in comparison to his senior officers, not yet entering his thirties. He was unparalelled in battle and posessed a keen mind that was rivaled only by Sirs Gallor and Hector. Because of his battle skills and chivalry, Gnishaw rose quickly among the ranks and quicker in the hearts of the people. Many a fair damsel will faint after a few words from the good knight.
Under the command of the first three Knights of Blegan were twenty young men who strove to prove themselves in battle and join the ranks of their heroes. They are unranked as a whole, as only twelve knights are ever ranked. Should they prove themselves out here, their odds of replacing a fallen knight are likely to improve. Most of them joined this adventure for glory. Many of these unranked knights are still green, having yet to experience any real fighting.
