When I wasn't looking...
"I'm sure she's not THAT bad" Sara replies. "Probably she's just often misunderstood. She's probably pretty nice, but the kind of person who you have to earn her trust and respect. I know... let's work really hard on this project and prove to her that we CAN pull our weight around here."
"You're only going to be here for 3 months anyways... then you'll probably never see her again. What's the big deal?" I ask.
"Even if our paths only cross for 1 day, it's always worth trying. And besides, I think Amanda really needs a friend. So, what do you say? Let's work REALLY hard and do a good job!"
Wow.. I've never met anyone so optimistic and confident and.. I don't even know the right word. It will be a LOT of work though... lots of hours and I'll be giving up alot of my spare time. And for what?? Just to try and reach out to someone who probably wants nothing to do with us.
I usually just do a mediocre job, put in my 40 hours and not a second more.
So what should I do?
