The Quest for the Crystal Sword
"Really? Great!" says Geoffrey.
John looks over at Geoffrey shaking his head and trying not to laugh out loud. The three of you spread out the two maps and a third that is of the land currently. You try to decide how to get there.
There are three main ways you can go. You could go through the mountains. It would be hard going especialy because it's still in the winter months and the terain would be difficult but you are least likely to run in to large groups of bandits. You could go the coastal way and cut into the mountains only when you are close to the sword and must enter them. It will be warmer than the mountains but there is a great chance you will run into enemy troops who have decided to stay in the kingdom for the winter and have established camps. Or you could go through the hills. It would be cold but not as cold as it would be in the mountains and there wouldn't be that many bandits (more than the mountains but less than the coast) but it would take the longest because you would have to go around a solid rockface. It will add at least a week to your journey if you are blessed with good weather.
