They taste absolutely awful and you immediatley begin to believe that you have allowed yourself to be poisoned by the untrustworthy wizard. But then you realise that you are more awake and have found a renewed source of energy. Yay for the bean.
Eventually the sleepless ones awaken and you follow them to the church thingie where they enter. You follow, eventually they confront you and you battle.
You win, you and a couple of others survive and you follow the corridors down for what seems like forever. Eventually you find three men who seem entranced pulling at strings over a gold glowing pool of water.
These are the puppet masters. You slay them with little trouble.
Then you pass out.
