Hall of Infinite Doors
You stay absolutely still, knowing that the faintest movement or noise could mean your death. The monster slides its way up from within the bones to the surface, and you can now see it quite clearly. It is a serpent, almost entirely black, with a massive, reptillian head and large, luminous yellow eyes. A long, red tongue slithers in and out of its mouth, but unlike a snake, the beast appears to have a full set of sharp, pointy teeth.
You almost gasp as the serpent rears up and looks around. You freeze, and pray that the creature won't spot you.
It does. Its great head swivels about and its yellow eyes narrow on the crouching figure. You.
Its head goes back a bit, then it hisses and lowers its neck. A gutteral roar follows, and the beast charges towards you.
You stand up and back away, then you stumble over the skull seat and fall back on your butt. You scramble to get back up, but the monster is already on top of you. You whip around and scream in fear as the monster rears up and opens its mouth wide.
You suddenly hear someone else scream. A war cry interupts the moment, and the gigantic beast pauses for a second to find the source of the noise. It doesn't have long to look. Several men wearing fur and armour leap upon the beast, weilding swords and axes, screaming like madmen. Metal pierces the dragon's flesh, and it screams in frusteration.
You are amazed by the warrior's skill. Though obviously loaded with armour, the men move as swiftly as if they were fighting naked (now there's a nasty picture). The snake shakes and tries to throw the attackers off, but they manage to cling on. Though a massive beast, the warriors seem to almost be a match for it. Black blood begins to trickle from the dark wounds carved into the serpent.
To your dismay, the monster charges into the bones and knocks all of the men loose from its back. It then bursts up from the mound in a fury and rushes towards the warriors. The bearded men leap to their feet and stand their ground, but you can see that now the massive beast has gained speed, nothing can stand in its way.
You then notice a warrior still clinging to the side of the serpent, his face bloodied and bashed up but his eyes as alert and as wild as they had ever been.
"YOU STUPID BASTARD!" the man roars, pulls himself up, and manages to jump up on the top of the serpent's head. The serpent, noticing the danger, stops the charge and swings its gigantic head back and forth in an attempt to toss the crazed man away. But with steel in his grip, the warrior manages to hold on with one hand, unsheath his sword with the other, and plunge it deeply into the monsters head, right through the skull and into the brain.
The black dragon makes a gurgling noise from deep inside its throat, and its eyes bulge outwards. A loud rasping hiss escapes its mouth as the creature wavers, then falls. Everything shakes as the mighty dragon crashes to the ground.
