Hall of Infinite Doors

You chalk the sidewalk more and more, sneaking glances towards the police car, waiting until it leaves to make your move, but every time you look back, the car is still there, resting in the same place. Just when you feel like screaming at the police car (as though it would have helped the situation) the boys father shows up, and the kid says goodbye to you as if nothing special was in your mind and ran to his father's car. With a police officer in the park and a father watching his kid, you had no other choice than to keep chalking the sidewalk and pretending not to exist. Eventually you gave up on waiting for the police car and drove home. The police said absolutely nothing to you when you walked by.
