Hall of Infinite Doors
You had your suspicions...but once you've taken a closer look, it's clear: these are real human bodies. Still, whatever's made them lifeless has also made them really light, so you drag it over to the ethereal glow. If these are bodies, those must be souls.
Sure enough, when you put the body's hand in the glow, most of the sparkles back away while one of them touches the hand. The body springs to life.
"Hey, man, thanks! Don't worry about us, I'll drag everyone else back to their bodies. You'd better worry about that soul-sucking beast. If you act lifeless, it'll lose interest and walk away in the other direction."
"Why should I worry about the beast?" you ask.
"Well," he says. "He's probably coming after you. If he figures out you're freeing his collection, he'll get really mad. Your job is to distract him so we can make a clean getaway."
