You decide a bear is far too powerful to try to avoid or take on and you're best bet to survive is to play dead. You fall to the ground and curl up in fetal position. You try to remain as still and silent as possible. You can hear the bear approaching until the crunching of leaves is mere inches from your head. The bear sniffs you and nudges your body with its paw and still you remain still. The bear continues to sniff you for another moment and then seemingly satisfied wanders off. You wait several minutes until you are sure the bear has left and then slowly lift your head up to look around. The bear is out of site. You slowly get up and brush yourself off. Death has been way to close for comfort twice in the past half hour. You proceed onward with caution, fearful of what the forest has in store for you next.
