The Mold
As you open the door a rush of cold air blasts on you. The product of several air conditioners and fans feels very pleasant but soon after entering you find it almost to cold. You take a look around and see that most of the police department with the exception of a few young spry officers is fat and old. They lounge about at their desks eating donuts, drinking coffee, and sweating like pigs in spite of the cool temperatures of the room. Directly ahead of you there is a particularly large balding middle aged officer sitting at a big desk. He looks down at you and lets out a slight chuckle and then in an authoritative voice asks, "Hello little boy? Is there any way I can help you? Did you lose your Mommy?"
You reply, "I was wondering officer if you could provide me with information about the recent attacks that occurred in the town. I am aware that a fungal beast is responsible for the recent rash of missing people and murders. Could you possibly give me any information you have gathered on the matter?"
The officer begins to look slightly nervous and replies trying to sound gruff and confident, "I don't know what stories you have been hearing kid. There have been a few small crimes and instances of vandalism that have occurred in the town but nothing serious. There are a lot of rumors being circulated but they are nothing but hogwash. Now where are your parents little boy?"
It seems like your straight forward approach did not work out. You need to think fast before this guy gets you sent back to the nursery or calls your parents. You can try to grab his paper work and make a run for it, act very hurt and pretend you are a midget with a growth disorder and are actually thirty years old, or leave and come back with some donuts. Which do you choose?
