The House On The Corner
You decide it would probably be best to go into the house alone. You make sure to tell your friends and company when you are leaving and you carry your cell phone. You drive up to the residence and realize that during this midday, the house doesn't seem quite as spooky. You walk up to the front door and ring the bell. You notice that there is lots of rubble and old rotten newspapers bawled up along the corners of the porch. You can smell the sour smell of old wood and dampness. You stand there a few more moments before you decide to ring the bell again. You are not sure if it is working so you rap loudly on the door. That is when you notice the living room window is slightly ajar, parts of a ripped curtain are flapping free. You are not sure if you should wait a moment longer or open the window and quietly look in. The house seems large enough that your knock may not have been heard, but on the other hand, a sneak peek wouldn't hurt anything would it?
