She didn't know the exact effects of the curse, and it may leech in to her mind, causing her to go mad no matter how little time she spent with it.
Or it may curse the man she intended to sell it to, regardless of the fact that he would keep it behind lock and key.

Then there was always the possibility that his store could be robbed and the sword would once again be in the wrong hands. Or worse yet, mention of the sword could get out, and a master of curses and dark arts may seek it out, leaving a path of destruction in his wake...

Now the best place for the sword was where it lay. Sealed within a tomb, forgotten by the world.

There were other valuable things to find that would not endanger anyone's lives.
