Heart of an Assassin
Deciding that your adventuring can wait for the moment, you walk over to the man. "Can I help you?" you ask.
"Who's there?" the man asks in a quavery voice, raising his staff slightly.
"A friend," you respond. "Are you trying to get to the village? I can lead you there if you like."
The man relaxes a bit, though still has a suspicious look in his sightless eyes. "Yes, I am," he replies. "If you can help me, I would be very grateful."
You put a hand under the man's elbow, and gently steer him towards the village.
Just before you are about to leave, the man gives you a golden medallion. You try to give it back to him, but he refuses to take it, saying that the time may come when you need it.
You are not sure what he means, but put it around your neck anyway, and resume your journey.
