The Quest

-It can't be *too* difficult,- you decide, eyeing the horses warily.

"Is there a problem?" Aril asks you. You somehow get the feeling that he is laughing at you, though his expression remains neutral.

You toss your head haughtily. "Of course there is no problem," you respond. You carefully approach the horse, ignoring the sniggers coming from the guards beind you. *They* have not been asked to go on this quest.

Slowly, you place your foot in the stirrup, and haul yourself up and onto the saddle. It seems easy enough.

However, as soon as you are seated, the horse rears up, clearly startled, and you are thrown backwards. Thankfully, the only thing injured is your pride.

Aril comes over to help you up. His eyes are laughing, though the rest of his face remains grave. "Perhaps you had better ride with me a ways?" he suggests.

Flushing, you scramble to your feet.
