No. The door isn't going anywhere. You decide to take the staircase instead.

You head downward, brushing a few cobwebs out of the way. The staircase is like by candles also, which means someone had to actively tend to it. Lining the walls are old looking portraits, the kind where the eyes seem to watch you as you walk past. You start to walk a little bit more quickly down the staircase but it seems never-ending. You're still headed downward. There's no way of knowing if you're underground or started up high and are near ground level.

Finally the stairs end and turn into a long, dimly lit hallway. The ceiling is high and there are several torches lighting it. A long ornate red rug covers the floor, running straight down the center of the hall. At the end it looks like there's a doorway.
