Manifestation
Within the world, there are those trapped between what is real and what is not. How they reached these states differs between each one, some willingly, some by chance, some by force... but the defining truth among them all is that they became as they were in horror, in suffering, in a ceaseless, needless toil that continues long after their mortal memories have dissipated.
To find one is a Herculean task in and of itself, but there exist rituals and circumstances wherein one can force a crossing, a tear in the veil that separates the mundane from the miserable. You searched for years to seek the methods, warned each and every step of the way through clenched teeth of your fellow seekers, that to follow them into the depths was to become a beacon to the things that lurk within.
To learn their names is to grant them purchase on your life. To look upon them is to invite them inside. To enter their realm is to level yourself with them.
