Zombie Apocalypse - School Scene

Frantic screams woke me from my groggy slumber, my sleep's inky blackness slowly dissipating as I started to wake. A searing pain accompanied my increasing consciousness, a pulsing ache at the back of my head. I finally grasped my surroundings, a grim realization as to the situation I had come back to.

Other students were frantically barricading the entries with desks and chairs, a misshapen but effective wall of desks and chairs. Through the cracks I could see glimpses of the door's window, dozens of rotting hands clawing at the glass furiously. From the croaky moans, I estimated at least a hundred of them, animated corpses walking the earth again with the sole objective of finding sustenance from the living. With the way things were going, they would be upon us in a few minutes.

"John, do something!" Someone had called my name, a girl currently pressing her weight into the makeshift barricade. Another student was on the other door, also making a futile attempt to hold our defenses steady against the dead mob.

"John, please!"
