Frosty Bliss
The halls are all empty, everyone already must've gone there. I take a deep breath of the cold air, savoring the crisp scent that fills my lungs. I look down at my watch. I'm only a minute late. But everyone knows that lunch is never something you should be late for. I open the door and enter the cafeteria.
Looks like I'm not the last one. Most of the tables are full, but some of the students I saw on the bus aren't here yet. The cafeteria is spacious and pretty modern, much better than what I would expect from a rural guesthouse. This place keeps on surprising me. I take note of the variety of food options laid out on the serving counters. There are salads, sandwiches, pastas, and even a small dessert section with various pies and cakes. Some plants are lined up against the southern wall with windows, and lamps hanging from the ceiling light up the room.
I see two tables with people I know: Fleur is sitting at one end of the room, with that owl I met earlier and an unfamiliar doe, and Avana is sitting at the table just next to that one, together with Ms. Thro and Effimia. Avana notices me first and waves to me enthusiastically.
