Elliana had just been picked up by Addie. They were going to be on their way to REV. The normal way they go was blocked off due to road work, they would have to take the freeway. That was fine, the freeway wasn't very busy at this time. It was 3 am after all. They were having some conversation about something that doesn't matter. What does matter is what happens next.
As they were driving, some white van sped up to drive next to them and rolled down their window. Neither Elliana or Addie could tell who was in the car. Addie felt like that was weird and sped up even more. The white van caught up to them, and before anyone could process what happened, a gunshot rang out.
