Everything Went Dark
There is no happy end.
Evie had just picked up Tatum. They were going to be on their way to REV. The normal way they go was blocked off due to road work, they would have to take the freeway. That was fine, the freeway wasn't very busy at this time. It was 3 am after all. Tatum and Evie were arguing. 'About what?', You may ask. But that doesn't matter. What matters is what happens next.
The argument got worse. Evie got really mad and slammed on her brakes. There wasn't any cars behind her, which is why she stopped driving. Tatum got out of the car and slammed the door shut. She stormed to the side of the freeway. Evie drove away. Neither of the two had actually thought out what was going to happen now. Evie kept driving, she was going a lot faster than the normal speed limit. Like, probably double the speed limit.
Unfortunately, this particular freeway was close to a lake. There's a lake in Redlands? No, but there is now. Anyways, there was a metal barrier that blocked cars from going off the freeway, but that didn't stop Evie's car. It knocked the barrier over and both the barrier and car plunged into the lake. The windows had shattered but Evie couldn't get out of the car fast enough. The barrier was on top of the car and dragged the car deeper underwater. Even if she could swim as fast as a an Olympic swimmer, she wouldn't have made it to the surface in time.
She was out of breath. Sucking in water seemed to hurt less than actually trying to hold her breath more. She watched her frantic air bubbles floating up to the surface. If only that was her. She stopped struggling and let herself sink. Everything went dark.
