Everything Went Dark

Tatum stayed asleep. She was aware that she was being shaken, but, like I said, stayed asleep. Eventually, whoever was shaking her gave up and left. The door never closed. Tatum fell back asleep. Another twenty minutes went by and she was still passed out. She was starting to be awake. Y'know that sleepy state when you're fully conscious of your surroundings but you're also totally asleep? Yea. That's what Tatum was in. She was facing away from the door, in a tangle of blankets. To get out of bed would require some time to untangle.

Anyways, Tatum heard some footsteps. Okay, whatever. Whoever had shaken her had probably came back to try to wake her up. Well. Good luck with that because she didn't plan on waking up anytime soon. Tatum didn't hear any more sounds, so she assumed that whoever had entered the room left. And then she heard a weird scratching sound. And the sound of something uncapping. Tatum felt something wet get poured on her. Maybe water? She still didn't wake up, but she did think that the prank was really rude. And then she heard some more footsteps. They must've left the room.

Tatum stayed asleep. But she was starting to get really hot. Did the heater turn on? Like, it was starting to get really, really hot. Almost burning. In fact, It did kinda smell like something was burning. Tatum blinked her eyes, finally starting to wake up. She didn't sit up. She looked down at her bed. Holy fucking shit. Her bed was on fire. In a frenzy, Tatum tried to get out of her tangle of blankets. It didn't help that half of them were on fire. And then her pajamas caught on fire. Fuckfuckfuck. It hurt. Fire was melting off her skin.

Tatum tried to kick the blankets away, but at this point only a fire extinguisher could stop the fire and she never saw any near the hallway. In fact, the only fire extinguisher Tatum could remember seeing was in the kitchen. She started to scream. And someone came! Almost too quickly...as if they were waiting for her to scream. It was weirder because they were carrying the fire extinguisher. Tatum couldn't process who it was. She was in such a panicky state that she never really saw their face. But whoever it was, they were really hesitant about putting the fire out. As if they were taunting Tatum, the person simply stood still. As the flames had climbed up Tatum's shirt, burning her clothes and skin, they approached the bed. But still didn't put the fire out.

Tatum saw the figure lift the extinguisher above their head and brought it down. Everything went dark.
