The Unnaturals Prequel - Cataclysm
You barely have a few minutes head start in this forest, and the howling of the storm lets you know that it likely wont be enough. You decide its time to leave the group behind.
A few dozen of the more athletic people around you begin to sprint through the woods, over top of roots and mounds, ducking under boughs. Behind you, you know that the slower members of the group are already dead. Somehow you seem to be staying ahead of this thing.
There are brief moments while you're running that the thick tree tops above you block out the orange-sh sky and you can almost imagine that there is a a terrible fire storm behind you. The woods smell dry, but still natural and fresh. Soon the forest, everything in it and perhaps every forest on the planet will be nothing but ashes.
𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘪𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴?
Ahead, you can see a clearing into what could be a road, or perhaps a small field.
You have become disoriented and lost running under the trees and under such pressure and panic.
Should you continue running through the woods?
Or
Running towards the clearing and try to get your bearings?
