Everything Went Dark

What was the point? It's not like they could get out anyways. The people they gathered and convinced to revolt was a small group and would eventually fizzle out. Time passed by slowly. The same thing happened every day. Addie and Jordan gave Jennan and Jack a lot of lessons on what they missed while they were unconscious. They were fed twice a day, they would take turns showering, and the rest of the time was dedicated to talking(which they lost things to talk about quickly), sleeping, or reading and writing.

Jack was pulled out one day, which happened once a week so they could get some fresh air. They were never taken out as a group, though. For safety reasons, probably. But he never came back and his mattress was taken away. It didn't take a genius to figure out what had happened. The three girls would proceed to live out the rest of their lives in that room. But don't worry, it wasn't a long life. About a year after Jack had left, a batch of cookies was delivered to them as a gift. They looked like chocolate chip cookies! They smelled faintly of almonds, which was fine. Almonds tasted good. And yet no one trusted them.

The cookies were getting cold as Addie, Jordan, and Jennan were staring at them. Addie caved in first. She took a cookie and bit into it. Mmmm. Yum. This tasted good. The others followed her lead. Once she finished her first cookie, Addie took another. She was starting to feel a little light headed and nauseous. Weird. Addie finished her second cookie. She decided not to eat another. Her stomach was really starting to hurt. She focused purely on her growing stomach pains. Jennan said something about the cookies being contaminated with cyanide. Prison life, am I right? Jordan didn't believe Jennan and noticed Addie was acting strangely. She asked if Addie was okay.

Addie didn't respond. Instead, she collapsed. Addie was trying not to vomit. A piercing headache appeared out of nowhere. Addie was suffering. Jordan started to complain about a headache as well. Jennan said something about not being able to breath well. Addie blinked rapidly. She was sleepy. She decided that it would be bad to fall asleep while feeling immense pain throughout her body. But she couldn't help it. Addie closed her eyes. Everything went dark.
