Everything Went Dark
A single person's podium rose up above everyone else's. Everyone else began to panic. Their minds were filled with thoughts of betrayal, shock, fear, and a few of them even had hints of acceptance in their eyes. Wowza! We love adjectives that we can't ever choose from.
The button was pressed.
Latches popped out of the ground and hooked around everyone's feet, preventing them from being able to move. Tatum had grabbed onto Jennan and whoever was on her other side's hands. Water came pouring down from the ceiling, someone got hit dead on with one of the heavy water streams. Jennan couldn't see who it was, but there was a good chance the water pressure had snapped their neck. When the water had gotten up to their necks(some of the shorter students had to arch their backs to continue to get air), it had stopped flowing. Then there was silence. Someone muttered something about the actual murderer pressing the button again to stop the flow of water.
They were wrong.
They all watched in horror as a few gun-looking things popped out of the wall, they sparkled with electricity and aimed at the water. "Well fu-" Tatum started to say as a surge of electricity raced through the water. Jennan could feel her muscles freezing as she was paralyzed. Screams and cries echoed in the gymnasium. The electricity didn't stop, and the water resumed to rise. Jennan tried to shout but the water rose too fast and all that she could hear were bubbles and electric shocks. Her body burned, jerking every so often. After another surge of electric shocks, Jennan felt a huge spark of pain. Tatum's grip on her hand went slack. Her hand slipped away, Jennan tried to grab the limp appendage, but failed because Tatum didn't try to grab her hand back. The water level decreased and those still alive had somehow still had their voices and started screaming again as more electric shocks surged through their bodies. Everything went dark.
