Everything Went Dark

If Tatum was going to be blunt, then so was he. Jack looked Tatum dead in the eyes and said,"I'd really rather not join a cult." Okay. So maybe not as badass as he thought it would be. Right after he spoke, Jack thought of a pretty epic dramatic speech about how he'd die for what he felt was right and joining a cult did not seem right. But he never got to say it. Tatum picked a gun off of the floor of the car (which was kind of a major safety issue). She fired it at him.

Jack fell backwards and hit his head against the door of the car. Tatum watched him fall with a neutral expression. She took the picture back out of her purse and put it back on the car wall. She used a red sharpie to X it out. She opened the back door and pushed his body out the back of the car. Tatum wasn't sure if he died after being shot or bled out. Either way, she didn't really care. Jack was dead.

Jack didn't feel any pain as he was pushed out of the van. He hit the street in an awkward position, he was pretty sure one of his ribs cracked. Jack watched Tatum slam the doors of the speeding van shut. He rested his head against the street and stared up into the sky. Weird. He could have sworn it was day. The sky was darker than usual, was it close to night? He kept watching the sky. He was feeling a little sleepy. Everything went dark.
