Everything Went Dark
How were they supposed to explain what happened? Tatum probably didn't want to and Jack didn't either. Tatum shakily sat down, making sure to face away from their friends on the floor. Jack sat next to her, but he was facing Jennan and Evie. Neither spoke. Then Jack complained about a horrible headache he had. Tatum glanced at him like she knew something, but didn't say anything. As time went by, Jack's headache got worse. It felt like his head had exploded. It didn't help that he kept looking at Jennan and Evie, who he kept insisting were still breathing when they clearly weren't.
Jack's complaining, anxiety, and mild hysteria, was really bothering Tatum. She took a rag out of her purse and covered her mouth with it. She stood up, covered her mouth, and quickly walked over to pick up her hydro flask. Tatum brought it back, and splashed the contents onto Jack's face. The smell of bitter almonds was choking. Literally. It suddenly became much more difficult to breath. Tatum dropped the hydro flask and ran in the other direction. Jack stared at her as she darted away. Seconds later, it became very difficult for him to keep his eyes open. Tatum running away was the last thing Jack saw. Everything went dark.
