The siege against humanity

You figure that if your gonna fight, you mind as well fight hard, you become a front-line. You are put in squadron 7 with 49 other people your put into a aircraft-carrier, your being flown into section-D of the battlefield, a large forest that had been taken over by mechs years ago, your finally going to try and get it back. The aircraft flies over the forest, you all jump and pull your parachutes, bullets come from bellow, ripping holes in parachutes and killing people as they slowly float down, you realize that you have to do something quickly or else you'll end up like a flying corpse, you think to yourself your only a hundred feet from the ground below, should you take off you parachute or take a chance and hope all the bullets miss you.
