Ghost Pirates of the Sea-erra Madre

You decide that you'd like to work a the zoo. You're excited to learn about all of the exciting undersea creatures that you'll learn about, but you get put in charge of the horse.

It's a regular horse from the surface world, but it's very interesting and exotic to all of the people in Atlantis. Despite that, you can't help but be a little disappointed. Still, you make the best of a bad situation and make friends with the horse, who seems to be filled with sorrow and understanding. You wonder how lonely it must feel.

After several years you meet and fall in love with an Atlantean named Durkei and move in together.

One day as you're cleaning the horse (which you have named Fleetfoot) you slip and fall in the water trough.

An Atlantean knight rides by on their sea-elephant and mocks you for not being dry. "Take care to keep your business drier than yourself!" He gallops off in a rush. You are glad to be rid of him.

You decide that enough is enough and plot a way for you and the horse to escape together.

One night you bid a tearful goodbye to Durkei and go to the zoo. You break Fleetfoot out of their pen, bring them to the old submarine you've managed to fix up and (somehow) get them aboard. You launch out into the ocean and things seem to be going well for a few minutes, but quickly take a turn for the worse.

Water start leaking into the submarine and you apologise to Fleetfoot. "I guess we were just never meant to see the sky again," you say.

Suddenly your submarine is enveloped in shadows and you see a much larger submarine above you. It grapples your sub and pulls you inside. You're saved! But by who?

Inside the hold of the larger submarine you emerge and discover that it's your nemesis, Jenny Mudge, proving once again how much more competent than you she is.

"What are you doing you idiot?" she asks.

"Rescuing Fleetfoot," you mutter under your breath.

"Rescuing?!" she's almost yelling now.

"Look, hold on a second," it's Lousia. "Did you even think to ask anyone you worked with about returning the horse? Did you even read the policy updates we've been sending out?"

You have to admit that you had done neither.

"The horse was scheduled to be returned to the surface next week. If Durkei hadn't come and found us you and your horse would have died."

You accept that you could have been smarter about the whole thing, but are pretty happy when they agree to bring you (and the horse) to the surface world. You plan to make your fortune writing a tell-all book about Atlantis, but you realize in the years since you've been gone Jenny Mudge and Louisa have successfully created diplomatic ties with many countries and Atlantis now has provisional UN membership. Nobody wants to buy your book about looking after a horse in an Atlantean zoo.

You and Fleetfoot get a job on a ranch and it's pretty cool actually.
