Ghost Pirates of the Sea-erra Madre
You want to see what the treasure Nerita found is, so the two of you try to fight the skeleton.
At first you think you'll be able to do it, but then the skeleton backs you into a corner and advances towards you menacingly. You're trapped!
Thinking fast Nerita uses her merfolk powers that have never been mentioned before to call upon the friendly creatures of the sea. A group of sea turtles swims into the cave and is able to destroy the skeleton. You're safe!
You thank the sea turtles and they telepathically tell you that you owe them a blood debt.
"Not for long!" cries Nerita. "Let's finish digging up this treasure."
You help her dig up an ancient looking chest and use the skeleton's axe to pry it open.
Inside you find an ancient looking tablet.
"What is it?" you ask.
"It is the spell of Total Annihilation."
"Uh, that seems a bit scary," you say, hoping Nerita hasn't gone full supervillain.
"Not, it's not as bad as that," she says.
As she begins chanting the words written on the tablet her eyes start glowing. Suddenly there's a blinding flash of purple light and when you can see again a few seconds later the tablet is crumbling in Nerita's hands and her eyes are back to normal.
"What did you do?" you cry.
"I have gotten vengeance on my parent's killers," Nerita replies.
"She has used the tablet to annihilate our greatest enemy, the shark!" a sea turtle says to you as they being to swim away. "Your blood debt has been repaid."
Of course! Nerita had told you that she has hated and feared sharks since they killed her parents many years before.
"No sharks," you think to yourself. "This surely won't have any lasting consequence on undersea life."
And it doesn't. The two of you return to Ocean City, where Nerita is held up as a great hero for eliminating all sharks. People also think you're pretty cool, and what more can you ask for from life?
