Ghost Pirates of the Sea-erra Madre
You swim up through the hole in the ceiling and, somehow, the water around you seems familiar. You see a shape bobbing in the ocean and swim towards it.
It's your submarine the Seeker 3! You swim up to it and can see yourself through the window. You must have swum through a time hole.
You manage to communicate to your younger self what has happened to you and they return to the surface. You're a little sad that they choose not to embrace the life you're living, but you can understand how frightening it would seem.
You swim back to the time hole, which to your surprise is where you left it. You find Nerita and return home.
The two of you have many adventures over the years. You help a help a clownfish reunite with its father, encounter the crab kingdom, befriend a giant octopus who often tries to help you (though not always successfully), and discover many strange new species of underwater creatures. You are eventually elected as a councillor to the Ocean City senate and do your best despite the many layers of bureaucracy.
Overall you think it's a pretty good life.
