A Date With Carter
Carter's eyes widen and he gulps. You can't help but feel a little bit bad and you start to wonder what it must feel like for your crush to be right next to you, so close to you, but they tell you to never see them again.
"All right. I'll drive you home," he manages, and you see tears brimming at the edges of his eyes. He blinks once, twice, thrice…and they're gone. He pulls on a poker face all through the ride home.
When you arrive at your house, the moon is fully up in the sky, and you ask what time it is. Carter checks his wristwatch and says that it's midnight. Time flies when you're…really not having fun?
You never saw him again. And he never spied on you.
