The Events At Northwood City
You shake your head. Why the heck would you talk to Mrs. Lythe?! THE Mrs. Lythe?! The same lady who openly snickered at you when you tripped and fell down your stairs the first morning you moved here?! Nope. You need a nap anyway.
You give Mrs. Lythe one final glare before slamming the door behind you, throwing the keys in a nearby drawer. You take off your slippers and enter your bedroom. Your apartment is small, but cozy. You don't want to do anything but take a long rest, but your phone declares otherwise.
You forgot that Mr. Yin had asked – no, told you – to take an early shift in the morning because of a removal of a worker. She had been your sorta-friend's friend and was extremely chatty. You think her name was Sandy or something. She apparently didn't have a filter on her mouth and once badmouthed Mr. Yin in front of him. Luckily, he laughed it off and didn't fire her.
You had queried why Sandy wasn't there, and your boss told you that she fled the city because of the increasing number of ghost sightings. You had shrugged it off without question, but if the Sandy who loved to brag about how brave she was left because of ghosts, something's up. The world's flipping upside down and sideways within a few hours already and you would love to go to bed right now and sleep all your problems away.
Does Mr. Yin really need you there today?
