The Quest of Isaac O'Connor [Unfinished]
The spirit sees you create a big shield of spectral energy and begins to run towards the other spirits, hoping it can kill them before you make a shield big enough to whack it.
Its instincts are right. You can't make enough spectral energy in time. You lunge forward with what you have and manage to smack it in the side, which is enough to send it hurtling away from the smaller spirits and into the barrier. It hits the barrier hard and is too dazed to get back on its feet. Now, you use your lightning to pulverize it.
The barrier around you shatters as the spirit that created it realizes that you are now safe.
"Thank you for helping us!" it says.
"Of course! And I'm sorry that four of your friends got killed," you say.
The spirits now look sad, remembering their fallen comrades.
"Now, we can't play our game," one says. "We don't have enough spirits."
You look over at the mushroom spirit, who has been on the outskirts of the barrier this whole time. You suddenly get a great idea.
"Why don't you play with that spirit over there?" you say.
The two spirits look at the mushroom spirit, who they hadn't realized was there. They grin.
"Yeah, let's play a new game with that spirit!" one says, and they bound over to it, content to play for now.
The Scepter is now free for you to take. Mission accomplished, you put it in your backpack and head back to the fork in the road. Which way do you go next?
