An Island Adventure
"Hey, man," you ask, turning to him. "Are you ok?"
He runs a hand over his shaved head, continuing to stare into the canopy above.
"I think," he says, his eyes meeting yours. "I think I'm going to stay here."
"Stay here?" you ask, incredulous. "What, right here?"
"Ook," he coughs, and moves towards the nearest tree. "I belong here. WIth these guys."
He points up.
Above you, several monkeys stare down.
"You what?" you ask, baffled.
"I think I belong with the monkeys," he tells you. "When I was a kid I wanted to be a cowboy but I'm a monkey boy at heart, don't you get it? Goodbye, everyone! Take care of yourselves! This where I belong! Ook!"
You try to talk him around but to no avail.
"Look, there is a saucy lady monkey, I'll make her my Mrs Monkey, and four baby monkeys! It's all I've ever wanted!"
He scampers up the nearest tree and all of them throw poop at you.
"Hey," one of the survivors laughs. "That monkey over there has his willy out!"
You give up, shake your head, and motion to the other confused survivors to move on.
