With such a vast amount of characters and ships in the game, it's easy to become overwhelmed and not know where to focus your efforts. I've designed this guide after weighing a number of factors, including unlocking characters in the journey guide or rotating events, squad usefulness in Terriotry Battles, Territory Wars, Grand Arena Championships, Raids, Squad Arena, etc. The milestones below lay out the primary targets of each milestone, and their ultimate goals.
Milestone 1: Separatists and Old Republic - Simply put, Territory Battles are the largest focus for the majority of guilds at this point in the game. All 3 raids have become trivial to clear, and Territory Wars are never static, so you never quite know what you're up against until you face your opponents. Territory Battles are static, unchanging measuring posts for your guild. Squads that can contribute to their success will be what most guilds are looking for in their members AND in potential recruits. As such, the first four squads we are focused in on are ones that have a track record for continued success: Geonosians, Separatist Droids, Jedi Knight Revan-led Jedi, and Darth Revan-led Sith Empire. During this process, you'll open up the following journey guide characters: Padme Amidala, Jedi Knight Revan, Grand Master Yoda, Darth Revan, and Darth Malak. You should also begin to help your guild generate Wat Tambor shards. You'll also build a full Separatist fleet.
Milestone 2: Bounty Hunters, Ewoks, and Galactic Republic - Several legendary characters are important to open access to others, and after Malak, the next biggest challenge is currently one of the more dominant forces in the game: General Skywalker. In this section, we'll be honed in on preparing for him, while rounding out teams to unlock Chewbacca and C-3PO as well. The four squads we're focues on in this milestone are: Bossk-led Bounty Hunters, Ewoks, Shaak Ti and the 501st clone troopers, and since you should have her unlocked at this point, a primary squad for Padme Amidala to lead. During this process, you'll unlock the following Journey Guide characters: Chewbacca, C-3PO, Han's Millennium Falcon, and General Skywalker. You'll also build a Galactic Republic Fleet, and be able to start attempting the TB special mission to unlock Ki-Adi Mundi shards.
Milestone 3: Round out the Rebels! - Before we start in on the most intense grinds the game has to offer (Galactic Legends), we'll want to bolster our roster a bit. Newer shards especially will not see many galactic legends start appearing unless they're run by kraken accounts. Roster Depth at this stage will help you dominate Grand Arena, and contribute very meaningfully to your guild's TW and TB events. The four teams we're going to be focused on in this milestone are: Phoenix, Empire, OG Rebels, and CLS. During this process, you'll unlock the following journey guide characters: Grand Admiral Thrawn, Emperor Palpatine, R2-D2, Chimaera, and Commander Luke Skywalker. You'll also build out your full Rebel Fleet!
Milestone 4: Galactic Legends, option 1:Rey - To begin working on unlocking Rey, there's a lot of work that needs to be done on specific squads and fleets, and they'll all need to be geared to the teeth. This might be the lengthiest pair of milestones in this whole process, and on the side, you'll have gotten a head start on some of these characters and ships. Instead of focusing on specific squads, we're going all in on one faction: Resistance. To unlock BB8, and consequently JTR, a basic First Order squad will be necessary, but true focus on them will be in the next milestone. During this process, you'll unlock the following event units: BB-8, Rey (Jedi Training), Raddus, and Rey. You'll also focus on a Resistance Fleet!
Milestone 4.5: Galactic Legends, option 2: Supreme Leader Kylo Ren - Whether you choose this option or Rey first, you'll be following your choice up with the other Galactic Legend. These characters are the most powerful in the game, and we've developed enough roster depth up to this point that these two characters will help you stay on top of Arena, GAC, TW, TB, AND Raids. Just like Rey's milestone, for this one, we are focused in solely on First Order. During this process, you'll unlock the following event units: Finalizer, Supreme Leader Kylo Ren. You'll also build a First Order Fleet!
Milestone 5: Round out the mid-tier squads - At this stage, you'll have completed the journey guide (or be working on it, should you be working on earning event tickets for the galactic legends. Most of your efforts should be put into building more gear on squads built before this, but adding a few more squads for even more depth will be super helpful. The four squads focused in this section are: Nightsisters, Triumvirate, Imperial Troopers, and a Qi'ra-led scoundrel team.
Milestone 6: Finish building teams with some synergy - After milestone 5, there are still a small handful of squads that are helpful as situational counters in more challenging TW or GAC matchups. We'll be focusing again on four squads: A second Bounty Hunter squad, Rogue One, Jawas, and a Darth Maul-led Sith squad.
Milestone 7: From this point, remaining characters are all lesser tier, and can be worked on to fill out a collection, but gear should really be the biggest focus once you reach this far.
