*these choices do not weigh too heavily into the storytelling of your adventure, but your choice here will need to be considered when making strategic decisions in the field

*Soldier: Excels at marksmanship. Offers decent fire support with an assault rifle and excellent target precision with a sniper rifle. Is able to use some minor tech skills to boost artificial implants or hack enemy hardware. Has the best tactical instincts of any class which provides a bonus to leading squadmates.

*Adept: Capable L3 biotic. Can produce powerful mass effect fields that are stronger than the average human biotic, but nowhere near the size of Asari biotics. To account for this, Shepard has focused on biotics that support allies and harass enemies. This guerilla tactic his further supported by the use of submachine guns. Average medical experience.

*Engineer: Specializes in indirectly incapacitating enemies. This is achieved through the use of drones, tossable electro-shock generators, remote hacking of enemy equipment, and other unique equipment. Engineers are generally underestimated as frail combatants, but Shepard uses this as an advantage. Expertise in several martial arts allows Shepard to swiftly move-in once enemies are incapacitated and take them out in close quarters combat. Utilizes rapid-fire pistols.

*Vanguard: With thick armor and L2 implants, Shepard relies on biotics to stagger foes before ripping them to shreds with a spread-fire shotgun. This straightforward and reckless approach may seem predictable, but Shepard combines biotics with an expertise in explosives to overwhelm enemies with the sheer power of an underbarrel grenade launcher that receives a variety of different grenades. And when that doesn't do the job, Shepard's sidearm in the form of a powerful hand cannon can bore a hole through some of the toughest armor in circulation.
